Heisey earns spot in outfield vs. Pirates

PITTSBURGH -- Outfielder Chris Heisey was slated to start one of the remaining two games against Pittsburgh in center field, instead of Drew Stubbs. Heisey has only made one start since being called up from Triple-A.

Reds skipper Dusty Baker decided to start Heisey in Tuesday night's contest.

"He was just getting his stroke down in Triple-A," Baker said. "He was really here out of necessity as much as anything, and I don't think it's a matter of comfort. I think it's helped him to sit here and learn and listen and see what it's all about. I don't think he's overwhelmed. I think he's going to contribute at some point in time. He's a tough kid and he's not intimidated by anything, and he's had to fight his way to get to where he is."
