Keels joins Reds' TV broadcast crew

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Reds and FOX Sports Ohio announced on Monday that veteran broadcaster Paul Keels has been hired to do play-by-play work on television next season.

Keels, a Cincinnati native, is recognizable from his current role as the radio voice of Ohio State football and basketball and his former job as the voice of the University of Cincinnati football and basketball teams. He began his career with WLW Radio as a news anchor, reporter and sports talk show host in 1979.

Last week, FS Ohio revealed that Thom Brennaman would have an expanded role on Reds TV games and the club added that former Triple-A Louisville voice Jim Kelch would also do work on both radio and TV.

Keels will work the approximately 45 games on TV that Brennaman isn't calling. Both Brennaman and Keels will be paired with analysts Chris Welsh or Jeff Brantley.
