CINCINNATI -- Reds manager Bryan Price challenged a stolen base by the Cardinals' Kolten Wong in the third inning of Sunday night's series finale at Great American Ball Park, and following review, it was ruled that the call on the field would stand.
With two outs in the top of the third and Matt Holliday at the plate, Wong broke for second. Cincinnati catcher Devin Mesoraco threw to second baseman Brandon Phillips covering, and Phillips' leg was blocking the bag. The throw appeared to be late, and Wong tried to reach around Phillips' leg to get his hand on the bag as Phillips reached to tag him.
Replays did not show evidence to overturn the call.
