With a little more than three months until the Reds hold the club's first Spring Training season in Goodyear, Ariz., Cincinnati has released its inaugural Cactus League schedule.
The Reds' Spring Training slate includes 31 games, 19 of which will be played at Goodyear Ballpark. The Reds' new ballpark holds 10,000 fans and is part of a new training facility that will be the spring home for both the Reds and Indians. Cleveland made its move to Arizona a year ago.
The Reds' move out west comes after the club spent 12 seasons training in Sarasota, Fla.
Cincinnati actually opens its Cactus League schedule with two games against the Indians, as Ohio's two teams meet at Goodyear Ballpark on March 5 and 6. In the month that follows, the Reds will play host to the Royals, D-backs, Angels, White Sox, A's, Brewers, Mariners, Rockies, Giants, Dodgers, Padres and Rangers.
The schedule concludes with two games against the Indians on April 2 and 3, before the Reds return home to Cincinnati to open the 2010 regular season with an April 5 contest against the Cardinals.
Though the Cactus League schedule has now been made public, the Reds have not yet released reporting dates for pitchers, catchers and position players.
For fans interested in catching the Reds in action this spring, the club is currently selling 2010 spring season-ticket plans. These plans, which are available for purchase at reds.com/goodyear or by calling the Goodyear Ballpark ticket office at 623-882-3130, offer preferred pricing and other benefits. Both full-season and half-season Reds spring ticket packages are available.
Individual game tickets will go on sale at noon on Saturday, Dec. 12. Group tickets and three-game packages will be available for purchase beginning at noon ET on Monday, Nov. 30. Various ticket promotions and promotional days will be noted on the spring schedule.
