Pushed back an extra day because of Thursday's off-day, Latos threw his side session in the bullpen.
Latos pitched six scoreless innings and threw 91 pitches in a 2-1 victory over the Cardinals on Monday. He felt the tightness after hitting in the second inning and decided it was best not to continue pitching after the sixth.
"We already lost Johnny [Cueto to an injury]," Latos said. "I'm not going to risk anything further where I can't get my leg up in the position like I normally can. If it's a problem, then you're risking something else getting bothered. I just told them this had happened and they said they would get somebody up."
The weather forecast isn't optimal for keeping loose this weekend in Chicago, as chilly temperatures and rain are expected.
"I might have to jump in the hot tub after every inning," joked Latos, who is 2-0 with a 1.83 ERA in six starts and has a streak of 17 scoreless innings.
