Reds' nightcap with Cubs shortened by rain

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Cactus League game between the Reds and Cubs was called after 1 1/2 innings because of rain with the score tied, 1-1. There will be no makeup game.

Reds starter Tony Cingrani gave up a two-out solo homer to Scott Hairston in the top of the first. He pitched two innings and allowed one run with two hits, one walk and two strikeouts. Cincinnati evened the score on Neftali Soto's sacrifice fly off Nick Struck that scored Shin-Soo Choo.

Rain had also pushed the game's start time back 16 minutes.
