PEORIA, Ariz. -- Through his first four games of spring, Jack Hannahan has been used either at third base or first base. Most of his experience in the Majors has been at the corner infield spots, but he has limited experience at shortstop and second base.
Reds manager Dusty Baker was asked if Hannahan might see time at second base. Baker already has several middle infielders vying for roster spots, including Jason Donald, Cesar Izturis and Emmanuel Burriss.
"Right now, it's so early. I've got to see those guys first," Baker said. "When we get later in spring, I might see him. For now, it's first and third, like I told him. We have to see them at their position before I start experimenting. We have 32 games to go."
Hannahan, who turns 33 on March 4, was signed as a free agent to a two-year, $4 million contract in December.
