HOUSTON -- It was a record haul of money for Reds radio voice Marty Brennaman's annual golf event.
The CBTS Marty Brennaman Golf Classic received $251,000 in donations. All proceeds benefit the Reds Community Fund.
Hosted by Brennaman, dozens of local celebrities participated in the golf outing at the Belterra Resort and Casino in Indiana on Sunday and Monday. There were two golf scrambles, plus a dinner and Motown concern on Sunday night.
Since 2005, the Marty Brennaman Golf Classic has raised more than $650,000 for the Reds Community Fund, the club's non-profit arm that uses baseball in its effort to help area children in need.
