CINCINNATI -- Reds top shortstop prospect Billy Hamilton is off to quite a start with Class A Bakersfield. Through Hamilton's first 24 games, he is batting .402 with 29 stolen bases. The 21-year-old's on-base percentage is .481.
"I'm happy for him," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "Just keep progressing on his total game, not just the highlights, the stolen bases. He's a great kid. He's playing great. We want him to stay healthy. He's doing a lot of running."
Last season with Class A Dayton, Hamilton set an organizational record with 103 steals.
