Phillies at the plate:
Ryan Howard drove in the first run for Philadelphia with an RBI single. The big guy is batting .316 this spring. Geoff Jenkins blooped an RBI double in the eighth, and Pedro Feliz also drove in a run.
Reds at the plate:
Brandon Phillips, Jeff Keppinger and Javier Valentin had two hits apiece for Cincinnati, and Edwin Encarnacion stroked a two-run single.
Phillies on the mound:
Righty Kyle Kendrick, making his final start in Florida this spring, surrendered five runs on 10 hits in five innings, while walking three and striking out four. His next start is scheduled for Sunday in an exhibition game against Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Chad Durbin turned in two scoreless innings.
Reds on the mound:
Edinson Volquez, who may have solidified his place as the Reds' No. 5 starter, allowed one run on five hits and a walk. He struck out five in five innings. Bill Bray and David Weathers also turned in scoreless frames.

Phillies 11-15-1; Reds 14-14-1.

Opening Day starter Brett Myers takes his final Grapefruit League turn Wednesday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. ET against the Yankees in Clearwater. The Yankees will counter with Chien-Ming Wang.
