Reds at the plate: Top prospect Jay Bruce drilled an offering from Toronto starter A.J. Burnett deep to left-center field for a double in the second inning, scoring Chris Dickerson and Paul Bako for two early runs. Cincinnati second baseman Brandon Phillips added a pair of singles.
Blue Jays at the plate: Matt Stairs collected two RBIs with a pair of hits on Sunday. Stairs drove in Reed Johnson with a single in the fourth inning and launched a 1-0 pitch from David Weathers deep to right for a solo home run in the sixth. Buck Coats and Joe Inglett added two-run homers in the fifth and eighth innings, respectively.
Reds on the mound: Cincinnati starter Bronson Arroyo was perfect in a brief two-inning appearance against Toronto, setting down all six batters he faced in an 18-pitch effort. Reds pitching prospect Johnny Cueto gave up one run on four hits and tallied a pair of strikeouts in two innings in relief.
Blue Jays on the mound: Blue Jays on the mound: Burnett, making his first start of the spring, surrendered two runs on three hits in two innings of work. The right-hander had no strikeouts, walked one and induced ground-ball outs. Burnett finished with 35 pitches (21 strikes), including 24 pitches in the second inning.
