Reds at the plate: Ken Griffey Jr. hit a two-run home run to left-center field in the first inning. Two batters later, Adam Dunn followed with a solo homer to right field. Juan Castro chopped an RBI single through the infield in a two-run second inning. Drew Anderson hit an RBI single in the fifth and an RBI triple to right field in a two-run, go-ahead seventh. Jay Bruce hit a single and scored in the seventh to extend his hitting streak to four games. Chris Dickerson added a two-run homer to right field in the eighth against Daniel Moskos.

Pirates at the plate: Jose Bautista and Ronny Paulino hit back-to-back RBI doubles in the second inning. Andrew McCutchen added an RBI double in the third and later scored on Adam LaRoche's sacrifice fly.

Reds on the mound: Ace Aaron Harang allowed two earned runs and two hits with one walk and one strikeout in his two innings. Matt Maloney struggled and was charged with four earned runs and two hits with three walks in one-plus innings. Josh Roenicke worked a perfect fifth inning with two strikeouts. Gary Majewski allowed one hit and struck out one in one inning.

Pirates on the mound: Starter Zach Duke gave up five runs (four earned) and six hits, including two home runs, over his two innings. Ty Taubenheim pitched two scoreless innings with one strikeout. Josh Sharpless was touched up for two earned runs and three hits in one-third of an inning in the seventh.

Grapefruit League records: Reds 2-2, Pirates 1-2

Up next: Bronson Arroyo will get his first spring start when the Reds head to Dunedin to face the Blue Jays at 12:35 p.m. ET. Slated to follow Arroyo are Johnny Cueto, Francisco Cordero, David Weathers, Kent Mercker, Mike Lincoln and Mike Stanton. A.J. Burnett is Toronto's scheduled starter.
