Baker inserts righty Heisey vs. southpaw

|
SAN FRANCISCO -- Although it might have looked like Reds manager Dusty Baker was seeking the traditional lefty-righty matchup when he started Chris Heisey over Jay Bruce in right field Wednesday, it went against the grain some.

Bruce, a lefty hitter, is a .243 batter vs. left-handers, while Heisey, a right-handed hitter, came in batting .148. The Giants started left-hander Madison Bumgarner on Wednesday.

"This guy is tough on left-handers," Baker said. "We need Heisey to do better against left-handers or else we're not gaining any advantage. He's actually been a whole lot better vs. righties, but historically in the Minors, he was a lot better against lefties."
