Harang throws successful bullpen session
PITTSBURGH -- Reds starter Aaron Harang picked up his throwing program Tuesday, tossing a successful bullpen session as he tries to return from lower back spasms that have kept him on the disabled list since July 6, retroactive to July 1.
"He will throw another bullpen [session] in Chicago, then a simulated game during the next homestand, probably when St. Louis is in town [Monday]," pitching coach Bryan Price said. "It's a somewhat conservative approach."
Harang was scratched from his start July 5 in New York and was placed on the DL a day later. The right-hander is 6-7 with a 5.02 ERA on the season.
