WASHINGTON -- Reds manager Dusty Baker said no decision has been made on whether pitcher Homer Bailey will get the start Tuesday against the Giants at Great American Ball Park. Bailey recently threw a bullpen session with mixed results.
"I heard he looked pretty good," Baker said. "He didn't feel anything. But he wasn't sharp control-wise. That's what we need. We need some control."
Asked about the possibility of Sam LeCure moving to the bullpen, Baker said there have been some conversations in the organization about it. LeCure is 1-1 in two starts with a 3.97 ERA.
"It depends how our bullpen looks," Baker said, "and how it's set up. [General manager] Walt [Jocketty] talked to Rick Sweet [manager of Triple-A Louisville] down there, and he says he has done some bullpen duty. It all depends on how quickly he gets loose, how his arm rebounds, and [Walt] says he gets loose pretty quickly."
