PROFESSIONAL CAREER: Cristian Pérez is in his first season in the organization...on 1/28/19 joined new manager David Bell's Major League staff as assistant bullpen/advance scouting coach...from April 2018 until he was hired by the Reds, he served as a fellow in the league economics and operations department at Major League Baseball's Office of the Commissioner in New York, where he focused on international first-year player acquisitions and Asian transfers...helped coordinate MLB's international drug and safety programs...during parts of the 2017 and 2018 seasons , Pérez worked as a baseball operations intern with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

PERSONAL: Was born and raised in 2013 graduated from Christopher Columbus High School...a former catcher, from 2013-2016 he played baseball for 3 seasons at Duke University before finishing his collegiate playing career in 2017 for the University of Southern California...while at Duke was named to the All-ACC Academic Team in 2015 and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology with a minor in economics and certification in markets and management...earned his master of science degree while playing at USC...finished his collegiate playing career at Duke and USC with 13 HR and 79 RBI in 170 games...follow on Twitter @Cris_Perez18.
