COACHING CAREER: Tony Jaramillo is in his 10th season in the organization and his second season on the Reds' staff...on 10/22/15 was named assistant hitting coach...prior to joining the Major League club spent 8 seasons as a hitting coach in the Reds' minor league system, with stints at Rookie Billings (2008), Class A Dayton (2009), Class A Lynchburg (2010), Class A Bakersfield (2011), Class AA Pensacola (2012) and Class AAA Louisville (2013-2015)...in 2011, his Blaze batters ranked second in the California League in hitting and recorded the fewest number of strikeouts...in 2008, Billings hitters led the Pioneer League with the fewest strikeouts...previously coached in the Tigers' system as hitting instructor for Class A West Michigan from 2004-06.

PLAYING CAREER: The former infielder in 1998 was signed by Texas as an undrafted free agent...spent 2 seasons playing for the Rangers' rookie Pulaski affliate before playing 4 years in independent leagues.

PERSONAL: Wife's name is Janet...they have 4 children, Ray, Jayla, Rian and Jenni...is the nephew of long-time Major League hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo.
