COACHING CAREER: Dustin Hughes is in his third season in the organization, all on the Reds' Major League staff...on 2/7/15 was hired as bullpen catcher...prior to joining the Reds spent 7 seasons (2008-2014) as bullpen catcher and batting practice pitcher for Oakland's Class AAA affiliate in Sacramento...in 2012 spent a week with the A's performing those duties...in 2009 and 2010 was the freshman baseball coach at San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, CA...from 2011-2013 coached the Danville Hoots in the Connie Mack Fall Baseball Program.

PLAYING CAREER: The former catcher played baseball at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA and Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, CA...also attended Sacramento City College...in June 2002 was drafted by the Marlins out of high school but did not sign...from 2006-2007 played in the Western Canadian Baseball League.

PERSONAL: In 2002 graduated from Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, CA...since 2011, in the off-season has worked as a trainer for professional baseball payers...wife's name is Alex...they have a son, Declan.
