COACHING CAREER: James Rodger House is in his first season in the organization...on 11/19/18 he was hired as new manager David Bell's third base and catching coach...House spent the previous 7 seasons in various roles in the player development department of the Diamondbacks, as a hitting coach for Rookie Missoula (2012) and Class A Hillsboro (2013), as a manager for Hillsboro (2014), Class A Visalia (2015-2016) and Class AA Jackson (2017) and in 2018 as minor league field coordinator...was the 2015 California League Manager of the Year at Visalia...his 2014 Hillsboro squad won the Northwest League playoffs...as a minor league manager produced a career winning percentage of .573 (284-212).

PLAYING CAREER: The former catcher was selected by Pittsburgh in the fifth round of the June 1999 free agent draft...played parts of 5 seasons in the Major Leagues for the Pirates, Astros and Orioles.

PERSONAL: Attended Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach, FL...in 2005 played quarterback for West Virginia University...wife's name is Valerie...they have 2 children, daughter Rilynn and son Camden.
